Default Modded my airbox ... RS6 Style!
I came across a pic of RS6 airbox complete with extra opening with the butterfly valve. That gave me an idea for my own little mod - I picked up motorcycle velocity stack off ebay (~10 bucks) and drilled a hole in the side where RS6 one sits. You can actually see the outline of it on the side of the box. Without further ado:

Default It's kind of like the Dar-intake mod, but less ghetto
Hacked up airboxes make for more power

That's a good idea.. though, I'm not sure the airbox is much of a restriction..

With the hacked up box, it read more air.

Default If you've actually got the motor mods to move more air...
If you're not running K04s or better, fueling and higher boost you're wasting your time with airbox mods

I've seen cars put down 400 at the wheels with teh stock airbox and paper filter...

Default If the mas reads more air afterwards, the stock box is a restriction
more airflow = more power. Check the s4 forum for all the data
