oil light coming on

oil light coming on
Hey everyone, so i just recently replaced my aux waterpump which was a success...my oil light came on shortly after, i added some oil because it was a bit low...then it stayed on...i idid an oil change and it still comes on and beeps....i believe there are two sensors involved....any ideas? Its an 02 a6 2.7t

Oil Serv indicator can be reset - see manual or bentley>
can't remember which one .... but you have to depress the trip milage indicator in combination with the other stalk ??? along with having the ignition switch turned to the right spot at the right time.... I'll see if i can find the process if you need it.

its actually the oil light flashing...
the car says to check my oil level but its at a normal level...i believe its a sensor....i havent purchased a scan tool yet...so i wouldnt know which one it is. any ideas?

ouch! dunno! don't drive till ur sure-hope nothing serious >
my guess - sensor or wire harness / connector loose .... scan may or may not pick it up .... many times a scan can give you false intermittent reads on certain circuits ...
other possibility - oil pump / cooler
or maybe a flow problem ...but hopefully not ... chances are it is something simple .... but with my luck usually not.
hows the oil temp?
sometimes the oil drain holes under the valve cover gaskets got plugged on my older cars ... oil would pool and give me this symptom ... however by the time I shut her down and checked the oil she would look ok ..... solved the problem the next time i had the valve covers off to replace leaky gaskets by running a coat hanger down the drain holes to clean out the sludgy oil deposits that kept the oil from draining back to the pan ... usually doesn't happen until higher milage though ..good luck!
