RNS-E in 04 A6...

I am sure this has been covered before, but I'm sure plenty of you knowledgeable AudiWorlders can answer this question in 5 seconds, so here goes:

I have an A6 (2004) that currently has Sym 2 radio with an XM module. The car currently does not have NAV. Does the car already have the NAV antenna in the sharkfin, and is it pre-wired? And can I use my current XM module with the RNS-E?

The XM Module is not compatible with the RNS-E, need to have the "E" version, you probably have...

...the "A" version.

You're welcome, and to be sure...

...you could have someone local run a vag com scan which will pull up the part number of the XM module, or you can go digging into your driver side fender well above the wheel to see the part number stamped on the sticker of the module itself...but it is not easy to get to.

I've had that inside fender apart before...

I'll take a look. Chances are you're right though, it probably is the wrong model - its my luck.

Now all I need to worry about is changin the tranny fluid/filter. I am scared sh*tless to do it though. 100,000 miles on this thing already... still on original fluid.

Dealer wants 550 bucks to do the service... very few indys in this area willing to work on Audi/VW.
