Repair Questions - Price Check, Aisle 3!
Hi all. I just brought my 2002 A6 3.0Q in for a few repairs: rear brakes, rear rotors, brake flush, alignment, & 4 new tires. Here are the prices he quoted me, please tell me if I should try to talk him down on anything:
Rear Pads: $160.99
Rear Rotors: $172.00
Brake Flush: $64.99
4 Firestone Firehawk GTs: $466.64
Alignment: $54.99
*all prices include labor
Any suggestions or comments? (please save any sarcasm or insults)

Honestly, I'd love to do the brakes myself, but I live in downtown Boston and do not have the tools or space to perform this type of maintenance.
Any suggestions on other tires?

Yes, I do brakes and stuff myself. But if they did good work, those are in fact great prices.
That's the real rub. Were the guide pins cleans and lubed? What rotors and pads were used? Yada, yada.
As someone said, check that the alignment was 4-wheel, with thrust line accounted for, and rear wheel camber and toe accounted for. Front end alignment on these cars is a non-starter. That said, my alignment pretty much never goes out.
