2000 A6 4.2 FS Feeler - See inside
A dealer friend of mine (yes, we have friends) took an '00 A6 4.2 in trade. He does TONS of cars, all American or Asian though, so this is an odd duck for him.
He gave $8500 in trade for it. That's all he wants to get out of it, so I gave him $8500 and now I want to move it fast.
I believe (will know more when it gets to my house) it's a black/black with 93K. Supposed to be very good to excellent condition cosmetically and mechanically. Will be getting VIN# soon so I can check more on history, records, options, verify colors, etc.
If you're looking or know anyone that is, please email me. I am doing him a favor for future business, so would love to turn it quick. Oh, please add $125 as that's how much I paid to get it shipped to my house; it will be here the end of the week.
And then if you want anything done to it, detailing/door dings, new mats, whatever, I will just pass on whatever I pay (I get good rates), or you can do it yourself. Will also have my mechanic look at it to make sure nothing is wrong, plus I'll drive it and test out all systems.
Sorry I don't know more, and I realize condition and inspection is everything. I will update/post again when I do, just figured if you were looking and thought this was a decent deal for car/miles, you could let me know and then I'd contact you when I have the full story.

Wanna buy my wife's 01 allroad as a favor, Bruce? Ha, ha.
The S6 sold to a C5'er who collects it this coming Saturday, but I just officially put the allroad on the broader market (that is, beyond AW) with the cars.com ad that I bought late last week. I hope someone bites - it's such a sweet car. Where do you work/live anyway, Bruce?

YMMV, but I am getting almost the same mileage in the 4.2 as my 2.7T...
...same commute every day, less than 1 mpg difference 17-18 mpg in the 4.2 vs. 18-19 mpg in the 2.7T.
Of course, my co-worker with the 6-speed 2.7T got even better mileage, I think just over 20 mpg with almost the exact same commute.
