Drivers door lock does not work with Fob...
Hello,
I have a 1999 A6 Quatro and the Drivers door lock does not work with the key fob or the internal switch on the door. It DOES work with the key in the door and it then turns on the alarm. Is this a vacume problem in the door?

PITA to work on but you can get the latch assembly out of there.
Not too familiar with the vacuum system yet but the key is doing the job manually whereas the vacuum would do the work via fob or door switch.
If you do get it out, test all 6? switches. My guess - one is probably stuck or something blocking it.
The key portion will stay attached to the door so if you choose to replace it with a used one, re-keying shouldn't be an issue.
I recently picked up a door skin that included the latch mechanism for $150.
I worked on a B5 Passat driver's door latch a couple weeks ago. When it was locked (via fob or manually) all doors would lock and the driver's door would immediately unlock itself. Took it apart, cleaned and tested it, put it back together and it was happy again. ????
