coolent loss on 2.7t

My car was leaking collent in the summer in the amount of 1 pint every so often. Seems it leaked when the outside temp was over 85 degrees. Since October car has leaked very little. I had the system pressure tested-no leaks. Anyone had this happen to them?

my previous car (2.7T) was low on coolant...

...and it was leaking internally into the after-run pump. Big $$ to fix, but fortunately covered under CPO warranty.

Check the afterrun coolant pump.

That's actually an external leak, but it can appear to be internal....

...since coolant tends to puddle on top of the engine and boil/evaporate off before it can drip on the ground.

That pump is plastic and metal and does not like temp fluxuations. lesiupa should check or change his.

oh right..I meant "internal" since it did not actually make it onto the driveway...

...and the only clue I had was when I took a picture of my RS4 carbon fiber engine covers on the 2.7T and someone asked why my coolant looked low

Hey guys, thanks for your fast responce. I took off the intake manifold thinking it was the secondary water pump-could not find a leak. Maybe evaporated before I could inspect it. Silly question but is the afterrun coolant pump same as secondary pump that sits under the manifold?
