Self inflicted wounds. All we hear about is problems..it's still a great car!!
Audi was down the least of all major mfrs (only Subaru was positive, slightly above 0!!). So take it with a grain of salt.
Even after 8 years of grief with my 2000 4.2A6, I went out and bought a very nice 02 S6. LOL!

some of us bought brand new ones w/ research and still got problem after problem ...
My '01 Avant (my 2nd new Audi) is about to hit 98k, all of it put on by me ... despite meticulous maintenance etc. it's still been a disappointingly unreliable and expensive car to run, as nice as it drives.
