Changing from a Symphony I to Symphony II 6 Disc CD Changer in my 2001 Audi A6 Quattro
Trying to upgrade to a Symphony II 6 Disc CD Changer in my 2001 Audi A6 Quattro...Is there major rewiring in doing this or just a direct change out...I know for sure the small SMB Style antenna(ZF) hook up needs to be changed to a another ZF Antenna connector called the FAKRA SMB Code "K" right angle connector and retaining clip...but if there is anything else...Let me hear it!!! Thanks..CPT Kirk
I think the connector is broken, reception on FM seems ok.

Yes A6's have two..at least my old 2001 A6 Quattro does...I read in a book it was for synchronization between the AM & FM...dont know whether front or back antenna...

Don't know the EXCELLENCE EXCEPTION of the Phatbox...I just happen to see parts for it on e-bay or some Audi dealer webpage...Can you send pics or exlpain how BETTER it is than the Symphony II? How you hooked it up or who did it for you...what year is your Audi...I have found out..unless you are an ELECTRONICS ENGINEER...Audi doesn't leave much room for upgrades...they just want you go go spend 60 to 100K for a NEW ONE!!! Ha!!
