So sad. Went and looked at a low mileage 01 2.7t...
The car has 33,500 miles on it which is impressively low for a car that age... but the poor thing has been <b>tagged on every corner</b> and the bumpers clearly had a life of "park by feel", door dings galore, big scratches randomly, dented fender, both mirrors look like they'd had a close encounter with a garage door jamb, curbed rims (the spare had a huge fight with a curb and lost) and the interior probably rarely had any attention paid to it. Plus, it had a huge engine vacuum leaks somewhere.
Seller is hung up on the mileage rather than the very very rough condition of the car.
Total skip. Pitty. Could have been a mint car had it been taken care of.

if it were me and I wanted the car....
I'd ask to take the car for a few hours to my favorite body shop and get a 100% redo estimate. Add in the cost of interior detailing.
Then take the figures to the owner and tell him that you would be willing to pay what he asks less the following costs in order to bring the visual of the car up to the same level as the miles indicate.
Show him KBB or Edmunds values of the car in mint and in bad condition are.. work it out... with him rationally and logically with facts in writting.
No one else is going to give him the high figure.

low mileage means nothing in the A6 market...
i traded my 02 Avant (pristine) w.22K miles on it last april and got **** for it. i wouldn't have gotten much more selling my self.

There are alot of these cars around now. My bud at Coventry Motor Car just picked up...
...a very clean 03 AllRoad with the 2.7t for a really great price. If I could get Robyn excited about an avant, I'd probable snap it up.
