x-post from allroad board. Need a tutoring on solder-in chip (2.7t)
<a href="http://s83.photobucket.com/albums/j288/s-carder/?action=view¤t=IMG_1407.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j288/s-carder/IMG_1407.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
From my limited understanding of the subject, the middle thing is the chip, the thing on the left is optional and allows swapping the chips back and forth. IDK what the thing on the right is (I haven't received these items yet, they are in transit)
I am sending the chip to Hoppen so they can code it to work with my ECU and update the software at the same time. After that its install-time.
What should I know duruing this process? any tips or stuff to look out for?
Any info at all will be a help as I am a mod noob.
TIA guys....
Sammy
when installing, apply SLOWWWWW, steady and uniform pressure. Be VERY careful so you don't bend any of the pins. It's not rocket science, but you do want to be careful. If you need to pull the chip, there are plastic tools designed for that purpose (radio shack may carry something appropriate if need be).
