Strong Gas Smell inside the car with the Heat on...
I know I have to clean the heater motor (under the front passanger storage).
But why the strong gas smell? I drove today in a 5F weather with windows open. Priceless. You know... carbon monoxide is no joking matter.
Please tell me it's no Head Gasket Issue...
Help appreciated,
David
Doesn't matter if a full or empty tank/outside temperature or anything else it seems. I will pull up to a light and get a strong wiff of gasoline too.
No codes
Replaced all the vacuum lines
No apparent leaks
When it gets warmer (currently -6) in Spring I am going to inspect the filler neck and lines in that area.
Methinks he is mixing up the typical exhaust smell. a Gasoline smell from the front of the motor with no visible leak is unlikely.
However and exhaust leak from the passenger sid exhaust: manifold, cat, O2 etc. would be an understandable cause.
