GBW, still having Bentley Issues? try installing logged on as "administrator"
"administrator" = Super administrator .e.g. "Root" in Linux/unix apps
"Audiworld fanatic or Computername\GBW" with administrator rights in account settings is yes an "admin", but still gets lesser downgraded privileges which are hidden from typical user daily operation.
and then add more with install via XP "compatability mode", but while in Vista, by simply right clicking...
find the *exe/ msi file/ whatever's available to kick off the install, and follow these instructions

Yep, I've tried those....
I'm hung up on the eztoolib2.dll issue at this point...
I'm an administrator, running XP SP2 mode, UAC is turned off, I've downloaded the latest version of eBahn directly from Bentley's site. Of interest, running the program as administrator is checked, but it's greyed out....I can't change it.

grayed bcuz you disabled UAC, shuts off "secondary" authentication
to change/add/del critical OS file locations...whats your ".dll" issue?
and to add some audi content, what part are you looking up to "fix" on your car? :-)

Bentley's not Audi content?
LOL...amazingly, nothing is broken on either Audi <knocks on wood>.
I just want Bentley running on the computer I use the most...the laptop is in the basement and my XP box dosen't have a printer hooked up to it now. It would probably just be easier to go buy a cheap printer!
The actual message is:
"Component eztoolslib2.dll or one of it's dependencies is not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid"
The dll is in the eBahn directory....thanks for the suggestions by the way....

apparently you simply upgrade to eBahn® Reader ver 3.1
* Make sure you are using the most current version of the eBahn software
* In most cases, you can simply use the Check Web For Updates feature to update the software
* Or Download the latest eBahn® Reader software
(from their site, many ppl have had this issue, they addressed it i assume in a latest fix)

, my next step would be injecting the driver manually via another installation
but otherwise im out of ideas...that's where Bentley developers might need to step in...
their DLL files might not be compatible and will need assistance
you should google if anyone has had any luck installing a digital bentley manual on vista...

What do you think of this....
do a system restore to a point prior to when I attempted the installations. Perhaps something is stuck in the registry pertaining to the DLL or something related. Then do the UAC and other stuff again.
Then attempt to download the 3.1.0.7 version and see if that works. Other than than, I'm out of ideas. Bentley was closed today, I tried them...LOL

sure,
just back up ANY critical files first. system restores are lethally brutal. you are jogging a system to get one thing back, and are deleting current information from that date on!
if it doesn't work then a forward system restore does not bring back current stuff either...(learned that the hard way the first time that feature came out!)
