OK, a litlle help please. a brief arhive search says other power steering fluids
esp from Autozone comply with Audi and VW specs. Only problem, none of the containers list it. So, my friends, by specific name, which one complies?

No big deal, just don't use the auto tranny type fluids, must be a hydraulic service fluid...
The former are designed for high shear service and do not have the lubricity required for high pressure piston pump service. They do work well for low pressure vane pump systems. I've been using tractor hydraulic fluids in my Audis for 30 years.

I researched a lot when I was doing the change.. some people said the Mobile1 ATF can be used....
But I went with the Pentosin.. it cost me $40 for 2L shipped and I think it is worth it.. Audi has a particular reason for using that fluid and I did not want to risk my rack to question their engineering province Pentosin CHF 11s
Also use the following method to change the fluid... Make sure you take the resovior out and use a hose or compressed air to clean the screen.. the screen does not come out in the A6... My indy (same one for alll my C5 services, no pprior issues), told me that to just top up,
generic is fine, only need to worry when changing hoses, pump, or flushing. Just don't buy the Honda only one.

Pentosin CHF 11.S.... Find a new service shop as that was BAD advice
