Would wheels and tires from a B5 A4 1.8T fit on a C5 A6 2.7T?
I've got a set of snow tires on my stock A4 wheels, 16" 10-spokes (205-55R16). I'm thinking it would be good insurance to put these wheels and tires on his car for the trip.
Would there be any 'dangerous' reasons that putting my wheels and tires on his car is not advised? Are the offsets different? Where could I find information about load ratings? I know the speedometer reading would be a little bit high, due to the difference in rolling diameter (checked an online calculator), but would there be any other bad side effects?
Offset, wheel/tire width and load rating are my 'real' questions. I don't know where I'd find the answer to these...
The bicycle tire look is all the rage in the great canadian north right now, didn't you get the memo?
They are listed as 16x7" ET45 offset, which might physically fit, but the biger question is what brand/model are the snow tires? If not the right load rating, your are taking a big risk.

Strange thing is that the Dunlop 3D in that size has the "94" load rating but is not listed by Tire Rack with the "XL" even though the same load rating as the above tires.

What I don't know is how to interpret the load rating applicability to the car.

I'm just trying to make sure we get to our destination, and slapping on my wheels and tires would be one easy way to provide some extra 'insurance'.
