Default Heated sport seat install followup - rocking seat fix included

Just following up on this post I made regarding the heated sport seats I recently installed in my car (https://forums.audiworld.com/a6/msgs/825594.phtml)

I changed the main heat wiring to the 30 terminal for power (constant) and left the thermostat power switched. The heat is better; probably not as good as a factory install but I am happy with it. Plenty warm :-) Still need to install the rears. I took BDs suggestion and swapped the memory module to the passenger seat - it DOES pass power through to the switch so now I just need to pick one of those up for power on that side (I could probably bypass it, but I don't want to go to all that effort; the module install is a 20min deal).

I did find, unfortunately, after I installed my seats that the driver's had the dreaded "rock" to it. No way I could live with that so I did some investigating - turns out there was a simple plastic piece that was broken (poor design, really) and replacing it fixed my problem. On the underside of the seat there is a track that that the seat rides on for front to back movement. Inside this track, snapped to the top of the metal guide, is a greased white plastic slide. If that is broken, your seat with rock back and forth since without it there is a gap between the slide and the track. Hopefully the pics tell a better story:

Broken plastic slide piece:

Correct plastic slide piece:

Slide piece installed:

The million dollar question: Can you purchase this from the dealer? I don't know - I looked at the diagram at Vag-Cat and did not see a part number or definitive piece that fits this description. I checked at the dealer as well and the parts guy seemed to think you would need to order the entire assembly to get it. I used a non-broken piece from my comfort seats. ECS has a repair kit for seats but I can tell from their pic if this piece is included.

Note that I am parting out my old seats - let me know if anyone needs pieces for repair or has use for a complete set of non-heated comfort seats

https://forums.audiworld.com/c5-class/post.phtml</a

Default Interesting find! I wonder if there is a part number for that? I'll have to...

dig around to see if ETKA has anything listed for that part. Thanks for your follow-up and for sharing the info!

I am glad the seat memory module experiment worked

Default Well, here is the diagram from vagcat; not sure how this compares to ETKA

It is the same thing that was on the screen at the dealer; the red circled area is where this part resides.

Number 9 is described as "1 set glide pieces/ PR-3L4,3L5, 3PN 1J0881277" which seems to fit the bill, but there are two smaller plastic glide pieces (7 and 8) which were not broken in my case. Would be nice if they came as a set (all 3 would be easy to replace at once).

Default From then looks of the diagram, it appears that...

...you can get #9 separately, but i am assumin that #7 and #8 will probably come up as "aprt number unknown" in ETKA, but you can get all the pieces in a "kit listed as #10a which includes the three guide pieces.

Default Anyone care to tell me if this rocking chair fix works for a 2004?

I have the problem, bought ECS repair kit, but it only works for earlier designed seats.

Default Right click>save as...thanks for posting that. Looks like it is on page 99;

1J0 881 613 (A; depending on side) $85.62 at autopartsdepot

I would definitely call to confirm before ordering anything though.

Default Do the parts in that kit look like the piece I posted? I don't think it has changed for newer model

years. You'll know if your piece is broken when you look under your seat. Unbolt it at the front, then tilt it back and look into that track - you should see the separated pieces floating around in there.
