Default My 01 2.7t is actually threaded onto the pulley that's down and 2 rt of P/S pulley.

and just above and to the left of the A/C compressor (see the threaded silver nose on the pulley with the three elongated cut outs). In order to take off the fan (blades and clutch assembly) you will need a wrench large enough to fit the fan clutch nut which is larger than what comes in normal tool kits (some local auto parts stores will loan tools for a deposite, and if brought back in good condition, will return deposite = free rental) then it's a matter of locking the pulley in place to loosen the fan clutch from the pulley, provided you don't live in the rust belt, you can most likely use a break over bar (holds sockets with a long handle but no ratcheting mechanism) on the crank bolt, leaving the drive belt on and pop the clutch loose that way, then thread it off. If it is stuck, than you have to find a way to lock the pulley itself which can be more trickey to ensure that you do not damage the pulley while trying to break it loose.

Default If it's like the fan on my 4.2, then it can't be removed unless you put the front end

into the service position. Then you have to take the "chopsticks" (or a strap wrench,) and remove it.
