What happened to this poor A8 owner?

I took this picture two days ago at a supermarket's parking lot about a mile from my house (Arlington Heights, IL, USA). I guess it's a victim of a hail storm we had about 4 months ago. Didn't get to talk to the owner. Didn't see pictures before of any such damage. Front side marker is busted and the front license plate is now on the dash.
Good luck to the owner of this vehicle. Is (s)he on this forum? Now I know how incredibly lucky I was not to be anywhere close to my house at the time of the storm...
