Paul did you ever recheck your tranny temps after the fluid change?
I remember you logging a datasheet a long time ago. Your tranny temps were between 95 and 100c. Any old cooler could be put inline with the existing cooler loop that runs in front of the radiator and give you some much lower temps if they are still that high. They cost next to nothing.
Just a though I had since I've been doing some research on the 5HP19 and 5HP24 transmissions in the last few days.

I think tranny temps normally run around 90-100 C
I would imagine that would make sense considering the fluid is what couples the engine to the drive train through the torque converter.
I didn't check it after the fluid change.

Those temps are definitely on the high side I think 70-80c (160-175f) is ideal
All the research I've read point to this being the optimal range. If you run under 150f too much the ATF starts to gum up a little but other than that the cooler the better. 100c (212f) seems high to me.
One thing I haven't found is a document with the tech specs for the Esso ATF LT 71141 oil. If anyone has this info I would appreciate it.
