Backround Lighting

Everytime I set backround lighting; it does not stay on. First of all, the last option says "off'; how do you turn it "on"? After its highlighted, there is no way to change. Second, when I finally get the lights to work inside the car I know that the reading lights stay on dimmed; if I turn off that switch all lights go off.

smc, when the overhead reading lights are manually shut off, it also shuts off all interior lighting. I assume you are speaking of interior lights and not the headlights!? Hitting the MMI "big dial" after choosing "on" should give you the ability of making that selection stick.

So, when you are in Highway or City mode, interior reading lights will stay on?

Yes, if you have it programmed that way. At delivery, for some reason, the interior lighting was the one area "I didnt get" right away and it took several "passes" for my pea brain to digest it!!! As I recall smc, I have it set for highway and everything works well.
