Default Better late than never, Road America pics ...

The track photographer was still using 35mm film, and it took me forever to get these few pics scanned.

Just past the apex of Turn 6

In the last session of the 2nd day, the S8 was oversteering almost everywhere! Even though the temperature was relatively cool, I managed to badly overheat the rear tires only ... and I guess I can see why from the above pic.

Approaching the Turn 6 track out alligators (they are bumpy!)

Exiting Turn 14 onto the front straight

As long as I can get my tranny problems fixed and some 17 or 18" rims/tires I'll be ready to go! SAB

At that track you'll want brakes more than any rims or tires. Don't go there unless you've recently bled your brakes and installed some high temp fluid and have at a very very minimum some higher temp pads, pagid, etc. I can't keep track of pads anymore, so many to choose, but that track is a big car high speed track, and will fry your stock brakes in one lap, especially if you don't have good fluid and pads. If you think brake upgrades are expensive, repairs resulting from no functional brakes entering a 90 degree elbow at 120mph and kissing the guardrail will change your estimation of what's 'expensive'.

You may know this, just think it's worth mentioning to anyone else with plans to go have fun there. It's a lot more fun when you know you can stop. :-)
