I would of just put the new fluid and filter in and see what happens....what did you do?

I thought about doing the same thing-replace fluids and see what happens, but any other metal pieces inside that have not stuck to the sender unit will most likely do so again and send a false signal to the TCM. I Spoke with ZF tech and a few others and they all concurred that if there were metal pieces stuck on the sender unit then there is definitely a bigger problem inside. Due to the fact that the car goes into limp mode when put in any of the forward gears there is a problem with the "forward pack". At this point in time I'm looking at $2k for a rebuilt transmission from European Transmissions.com and $1200-1400 installation charge.

Decided NOT to have the shop do a timing belt, water pump, and tensioner as ScotD offered to help me do the job (With the rental of your cam tools) and with the write-up in Audipages.com should be able to do it without too many problems. What should I expect for the price of the parts?

Need to get the car running again FIRST.
