Brake dust -- did Audi change it's pads?
I recently had the car in for service (at the dealer - still free service) and they redid the front brakes. Excessive run out meant new rotors and new pads -- this at about 33K miles on a 2000 A8L. I am now getting an INCREDIBLE amount of brake dust on my wheels. Brake feel is very different as well. They act a lot like the PFZ's I had on my '95 Impala SS (I should have kept that puppy) -- when first applied (cold) they are useless and need some heat to do anything. Then they are OK, I'd say maybe a little smoother but that may be just because I have to push the pedal a lot harder to lock them up - this might not be good.
Anyways - LOTS of dust - midway through a week they look worse than they used to look after a few weeks. This weekend I cleaned after two weeks of no wash (Hey - I was busy) and it was a bitch to get the wheels clean.
They must have changed their pad compound. Any ideas?
