The rotor vents ...
into the hub of the rotor and out at the circumference, assisted by vanes in the rotor "sandwich". Ignore the slots in the face of this rotor,
but you can see vanes in this pic, and your rotors are almost certainly similarly vented.

No, that's just a fancy version of a slotted (vented) rotor.
Your rotor should look like this pic. Note the "ports" when looking at the rotor from the edge and also the cooling vanes when the rotor is sliced in half. The rotor is a centrifugal air pump, pumping air from the center and venting it at the edge.

thanks randy for clearing this up . i thought my dealer put a8 rotors on my car cause my 993 had rotors with holes in them. thanks again. ralph 2001 s8 blk/blk.
