Default 2004 A8L Radio question

Can you delete memory frequency settings in the memory portion of MMI for you radio? My dealer stored a bunch of stations I never listen too and I cannot find a way to delete. Thanks

You can't delete your dealer's "favorites". Nice of him to program his preferences into YOUR radio !!

You can save your favorites OVER his choices in the same memory location, though. It will replace his choices with your choices. Try that, it worked for me.

I find it funny that the dealer did this.

We need to start an D3 A8 pre-delivery checklist. I did not get a pen in either my manual cover or glove box. That sort of pissed me off - what are they doing? collecting Audi pens? sheesh. they work for audi. but i'll gladly trade that over the dealer loading up my radio with his picks.

Jeff, if he used up all the spots in the favorites or you don't have as many as he does, just repeat some of your stations to over-write the old ones. it doesn't hurt to be redundant sometimes.

Also, you can store AM along with FM in the favorites. a pretty neat feature. not exactly the fastest b/c it still seems to scan AM but you can fill in those slots with something you may want to listen to.

Thanks Jee. I had just about come to the conclusion that you would have to overwrite stations as I saw no delete function. Thanks again.

Thanks Dr. G. I think he thought he was doing me a favor, but.... 400 miles so far and no problems. I've just about figured how to use most things. My wife couldn't believe I would want a car that you needed to read an instruction or owners manual before you could operate anything. I think its a guy thing. Jeff

Default Stations

This is good stuff to read. As part of our PDI ordeal we are to program stations for all radios. Audi just says "strong signal" which obviously can mean anything. I don't know what if any owner feedback cards or what not you may get in the mail but if you really don't want that done, let them know. They just have us do it to show the car can do it I guess. Not the end of the world as far as I am concerned but try finding a bunch of strong AM stations in Chicago to fill all the spots in a Synphony radio. In any event feedback like that would be good. But just like any other radio you can't delete presets only over ride them.
