Rear headrests 2004 A8L

Who had or removed the rear headrest themselves? I would like to know a way to do it. The dealer would not probably do it as it is probably unsafe. My 1999 mercedes E-320 had a neat button to push and all the headrests would fall down like tin soldiers. It was good for looking back during backing up and for better visibility while driving.

Jeff, it was AL8Jim who removed his headrests. I paged him awhile back but got no response. Do ya think he put them back?

No he's probably on a trip or something. We'll wait for him to post. I think you might be able to just muscle them out with brute force.

Jeff, do they really block your line of sight? I find that they only block people that try to pass me and that NEVER HAPPENS! LOL

It is the driver side one when backing and looking back for cars that might pass. I can live with them but I wish they would pop up and down like my mercedes E-320 did.

I'm with you. Those things are just too in(ob)trusive. They constitute my second biggest complaint about this car. (My biggest complaint is that I have only had time to drive 438 miles so far in the month and a half I've had it.) Damned nice car, but I just drive it on weekends, and I've been gone most weekends since leasing it.
