Your sunroof and MMI fix are exactly what I'm doing now. Its incredibly annoying for me. Have you gone in for your service yet? Have you let service dept. know of this issue? When was the build date of your A-8? I'm interested in knowing if your service dept. has a KNOWN fix, because mine and the dictrict sales guy are clueless. Thanks- Blade

Blade, I heard on the news that the sun has thrown off the largest flare in its history and it is headed this way(seriously). This may be the software update that we all are waiting for. Lets see if by Friday your MMI and sunroof start acting normally again!

I will be bringing it in for service next week sometime. My build date was May 2003...

I'll let you know if I find out anything.

More on MMI blank screen

Blade - when I took my A8L for service at 5K two weeks ago, the dealer told me (after consulting with Audi) that the MMI blank screen problem was related to a mis-match between the radio and MMI software. They installed a new radio (I hadn't noticed anything wrong with the old one). At first I thought this had corrected the problem but it returned within a few days. I'd guess one pop-up in five is blank. The diagnosis may still be correct - I'm going to try to keep the CD (and not radio) on and see if the problem goes away. I thought it might be related to MMI software version, but the post below suggests that most of us have the same version from S/N early to S/N later.
