1999 vs. 2000
Looking to buy a 1999 or 2000 used A8. I'm aware of the printed specs of both cars, so I think I know the differences 'on paper'. Unfortunately, where I live I don't see any used A8's, so I can't really compare the two years. I think I read that the 2000 is 5" wider than the previous models. I'd really appreciate anyone's thoughts on the pros and cons of these models.
Thanks!

2000 was the first year the long wheelbase A8L was offered in North America.
4 valve => 5 valve cylinder heads.
Recessed window washers on updated bumpers.
Concert => Symphony head unit upgrade.
Updated dash center to go along with the above.
Nav system availability
Also, some of the articles at the link below talk about 2000MY updates.

https://www.audiworld.com/model/a8/content.shtml</a

Thanks for the info. A lot of conflicting info on the web. Carpoint and autotrader.com say that both the normal and the long wheelbase have a width of 79", but on autoconsumerguide.com only the A8L is 79" and the standard is 74". I couldn't find any of these specs on the audiusa site. Wonder if anyone else knows which figure is correct.
Thanks,
Kent
