Will 17" wheels that fit a '98 A8 fit an '04 A8L?

Will 17" wheels that fit a '98 A8 fit an '04 A8L?

I have 225/55 R17 snow tires that I used on my old A8 and I would like to buy wheels that I can mount them on and use them on my new A8L. The 17" package offered by The Tire Rack for the '04 A8L comes with 235/55 R17 tires. Does anyone know if I can mount my tires on those wheels, or if 17" wheels that fit an older A8 will work on an '04? I suspect the tire pressure monitoring system might make older 17" wheels problematic on an '04, but I don't know. Thanks.

I think no problem, but ...

I'd like to see someone post the ET of the '04 A8L 17", 18", and 19" wheels to be sure.

The 17" wheel of the D2 A8 is 8" wide with an ET 48. The 17" wheel of the D3 A8L is also 8", but I don't know the offset.<ul><li><a href="http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/tiresizeoptions.html">A8/S8 wheel/tire options</a></li></ul>

i would think the caliper height and rotor diameter (14.2") would be limiting factors for 17s...

as the offset/backspacing could cause the spokes to either not clear the calipers. some wheels have the valve stems placed in areas that would even hit the calipers. Do a test fit first.

tire pressure sensors should not play a role on wheel fitment. I've not seen the actual unit yet but i believe that they can be used in other wheels as MBDefector had done with his new wheels.
