Center Window of Instrument Cluster Brightens Every Time...

I use my bright lights. Has anyone else ever noticed that happening when using their Bright lights? I'm speaking specifically about the square center display window that displays the outside temp, computer reads, and audio related info such as CD numbers track numbers and radio station info etc.. Maybe it's supposed to increase in intensity but even so, I can't seem to figure out the significance? The cluster increasing in brightness only when the bright lights are on is something I only recently noticed. Is it possible I have a short or some wires crossed?

Let me know if you know anything about this. I've had my car for years however it seems I'm still discovering interesting features of this car. Or, is it gremlins?

Never noticed that with my 97 A8...

If it is just a curiousity, I'd ignore it. If it's an annoyance, and it only started recently, I'd look for worn insulation.

My '97 doesn't do that- either a gremlin or a special "feature" :-)

However my gremlin is that the rear fog lamp comes on automatically when I turn on the front fogs (but not the other way around). I just live with it......
