I AM BACK!!!!!

My transmission gave up 09/09/04, 74 days ago and I got back on the road just yesterday. I took that damn thing a part so many times, I lost counting. I've learned a lot about Audi transmission ( as Paul said, probably more than I ever wanted to know ). The most important advice for you guys, that if your car goes into limp home, DO NOT dive it before you can vag-com it. Mine broke down 1 mile from home and it was enough to burn the clutch. The limp mode is designed to let you to drive to the dealer, so when you get there, they can change your transmission. I had a simple mechanical failure, but I lost all the fluid pressure in the transmission, so it burned the clutches. I will post some pictures for the transmission change procedure later. Now I am busy driving it.

Great to hear that the transplant was a sucess

I must admit I was a little concerned when you opted for a second hand tranny from eBay. It's great to hear this all worked out.

Enjoy havign the A8 back on the road. You picked a great time with the long holiday weekend.

Also, I like Nav install. It's looks perfect.
