1998 A8 Preventitive Maintainance Advice Sought
I recently purchased a 1998 A8 with 98K. All the major 90K service stuff was completed prior to purchase. Is there anything I should be aware of with this particular year and model to keep my eye on or provide prevenitive type care for? Below is what was done prior to purchase. Thanks in advance for the advice.
New Timing Belt
New Timing Bolt Rollers (all 3)
New Timing Belt Dampener
New Water Pump
New Spark Plugs
New Thermostat
Coolant Flush with correct Red Pentosin Coolant
New Serpentine Belt
Oil Change with Synthetic Motor Oil
Brake Fluid Flush with Pyroil DOT4 fluid
Topping off of all fluids including Differentials and transmission with correct Audi Lubricants
Middle Differential Drive Seal replaced to avoid typical oil leak above left catalytic converter
Valve Cover seals replaced to avoid typical leaks at each side of engine
Cam Timing Cover Seals replaced to avoid typical oil leaks at rear of engine
Thread:
New Timing Belt

Sounds like a pretty complete list except the tranny fluid/filter change....
Go to Audipages.com and check out the used Audi A8 buyers guide- it lists the most common problems with these vehicles. I would also recode the transmission to 00011 or 00001.<ul><li><a href="http://www.audipages.com/usedA8/usedA8items.html">Audipages Used A8 Buyer's Guide</a></li></ul>
