Value of a 97 A8

I'm seeing widely varied prices for a low mile 8=97 A8 4.2Q I'm looking to buy. Retail low of $9K up to $18k. Anybody have a feel for it's value..I'm in Seattle. Thanks.

Someone posted some auction prices not so long ago...

$7k for a '97 A8 as an all-time low and had serious milage on it.

I bought mine for $8000. All it needs is the services done, t-belt, trans. It's good to check out the history on the car and run a carfax. It's an investment for the service that will need to be performed, but you will have a great ride in the end.. Im a master mechanic and even I am not going to do my own t-belt! So it will cost 2k out of pocket to do and im ok with that!Buy low at all costs!

Isn't it amazing how cheap you can buy a 97 A8. Here in Indy, I see one advertised with 97K miles and 18' wheels for $9,500. I know we are looking at getting my wife a Toyota or Honda Minivan and just for kicks, had them appraise my 97 A8 with 103K miles. Offered me $6,000! I laughed. Or maybe cried, I'm not sure.

I'm looking at selling at 150K or 200K miles. Might as well get my money out of it. Or maybe I mean let it get my money out of me!
