Car won't start revisited.....

My car is at the dealer now as it wouldn't start (posted on Friday). It would crank perfctly, just wouldn't fire....The service writer just called to tell me that I need a new battery.I can live with that because it's the original battery ('99), but what I can't understand is if it cranks, fine, how can it be the battery? Do you think I'm being hosed? or should I just wit it out to find out what's really wrong?

They have a jump on it, correct? If so....then why won't it start? It's not because of the battery.

Agree with PaulW. How can the car crank fine if the battery is bad.

What codes have they pulled. They did pull the codes right?

Did they say it is running? I wonder if they addressed a simple (cheap) fix and now want to soak you for a battery?
