Failed Texas state Inspection due to parking brake problem

Hi
I am new to the fourum as I bought a 1998 AUDI A8 this is my first car in US.
Today I went for state Inspection in Dallas and it failed because of the Parking brake problem. Does anyone know any garages where I can repair them in Dallas. I dont think I would go to Audi dealers and get ripped off. Hope someone could help me.

From the sound of crickets, ...

You can safely conclude that A8/S8 parking brake problems are extremely rare. I think I recall perhaps one post about the parking brake where a rear caliper was damaged during a pad change.

What exactly about the parking brake is failing: failing to hold, failing to engage, ... ?

When I try to apply the hand brake it does not stop the car from sliding on the slope. The brakes are working properly.

Actully when the service person was testing it when I have given it for state Inspection the driver side rear parking brake was locked. After I came to know that whith the burning smell. I applied the parking break and released which released it.

What do you think the problem is
