I actually had a little trouble finding this in the search so this is for the next guy:
Axle bolt is a 17mm hex. I got a 1/2" impact version which didn't work. Used an allen wrench with a breaker bar (1" pipe). Make sure you take off the wheel, remove the center cap, reinstall the wheel, and then loosen on the ground.
Do this first !

lol glad you got it off. I pulled my front shock off again
tonight and dug around again. I also repalced the bolt that hold both of the upper control arms together with the orginal one because it seems that the new one that came with my kit was just a slight smallef in diam.. Not sure if it is fixed yet. I should know more tomorrow. I drove about 30miles tonight and so far so good. I will keep you posted. I think you also stated you had the same type rattle.

I find things that are really stuck rarely come off with an impact.....you need that huge breaker bar and the wheel on the ground.

It's funny you say that because this is first time I've been stuck.
It's been tested on a few crank pulley bolts and I just did two axles on a Lexus a couple of weeks ago. These were on a lot tighter though, I didn't stand a chance. I wound up standing on the breaker bar !

no, I think it was someone else who had the rattle. I've been spared that misery in the ones
I've done. I have been using a torque wrench on every nut/bolt and doing the final torquing down on the ground after bouncing the car up and down a few times.

You need a 5' section of 1-1/2" Sch.40 pipe, to add to your breaker bar.

I actually have a 2' piece and a 3' piece with a union. Gives me more flexibility for other needs.
