trans overhaul update '97 Quattro
Well,
The jury is finally in, with real-world testing to follow. $2200 including valve body rework, all new clutches and torque converter, and new pump bearing (it was howling).
1) No hunting
2) Shifts smoothly
3) No thumping, especially noticeable at stopping.
4) Accellerates better (not sure why)
5) downshifts much quicker without hourglass delay
6) Free use of loaner car (you get what you pay for)
7)Had to go back for thump at stop-- they fixed it with valve body rework.
Now-- the recommendation:
King Transmission

Cheap date, complete job, stood behind their work, know how to work on Audi A8 transmissions, and they don't price it like it's something special.

Well, I have to pick a color for the other two walls, but that will be easy.
The pictures don't capture as good as it looks....it is really stunning. The colors are all so warm and inviting.....you have to remember the room is 30' x 13'
