Does anyone know how this comes apart?

I'm trying to replace my stolen side mirrors with S8 aluminum mirrors. I can't seem to figure out how to undo this nut to release the mirror motor from the rest of the assembly.

Here's a shot of some of the mirrors I've accumulated. B7 S4 mirrors on the bottom, they don't fit. S8 mirrors in the middle. Various A4, A6 parts up top.

Did you get new mirror assemblies from a facelift car?

You will need new black parts from a facelift car, then you have to use some of your old parts to work with the new parts from my understanding of a guy who did it.

Tony, I found my old mirrors. If you want them, I can bring it to Paul next week.

Paul - It looks like a facelift car, both mirrors are the same size. I think I have enough pieces for the passenger side, don't know about the drivers side, if not I can buy Gabor's.

Accler8 - I got them on ebay.de. I've seen them go for between $180 and $400. Shipping will run you an extra $50 or so. And if they don't take paypal, that's an added expense buying Euros.

I look forward to seeing everyone next weekend.
