Default Leakeage

Hi everybody,

We have an extremely cold weather here, last night it was -12 ! This morning I've just realized that on the passenger side of the car right under the bumper, where the black plastic cover is attached, there was a leakeage,I guess some coolant. The car didn't overheat and the coolant level is not low,the question is did somebody experienced something like this, the car is a 2001 A8L with 41.000 miles. My dealer is at 110 miles and there is no way that I can travel there on this weather.
Thanks a lot.

Thanks Paul,I've thought about the water pump (like my previous A6) but what you say it makes sense, I will keep an eye on it.

Dan

Default is it blueish in color? If so, it's the hose for the headlight washers. They leak right around the

front of the belly pan and bumper.

It doesn't seem to be blueish,I will take another look, but is so damn cold even in my very well insulated garage ( I remember my previous A4 had this issue solved by a new hose and clamps )
Thanks

Once the temp goes up, the leak always goes away

Default Heh, coming from you this makes me leaky Alumabitch feel good then.

I'm guessing oil cooler, can't see crap w/o pulling the bumper / alternator. That one will wait to warmer daze.

Could also be WP I s'pose - the PO had it addressed @ like ~ 54k one can only wonder why. I have heard of other WP issues @ 40-60k, maybe it's again now @ 98k (damn them miles keep piling up - such bliss tho in this machine who cares).

Gotta love the G12 tho, aside from sounding like a bag of change hitting the ground when it leaks (chaCHING @ $14 / bottle), it does leave a nice pink signature snail track to follow. Just disappears in the depths of the motor.

Def. seems worse with the cold, which paradoxically sux cause then you HAVE to run G12 v. distilled. Typical Polack situation here.

Tx for the affirmation PW.

Maybe it's a Paul thing? I got more of 'these' if anyone's short.
