car not starting
I like to put a small trickle charger on.
Less than 1 amp, over night when it's cold.
If you are getting "some response from the starter, but no engine turn over, it's POWER you need.
A warm battery has lots more to give than a cold one.
On the A6, I have installed a lower radiator hose heater. Thermo-siphon carries the heat up into the engine block. No help to the battery, except the engine starts readily. The best part?? Warm air at the heat and defrost moments after the engine is started! A very good thing!

check your coolant. Sounds dumb, but my coupe wouldn't start in 3` weather because the PO had too much water in the mix. Easy way to kill your engine. A jump might cure it if that's not it, or a new battery.
Are you saying that the coolant has thickened or frozen such to inhibit the turning of some engine part? What? The water pump?
I fail to see any connection between an engine not turning over and the state of the cooling water in the jacket, or anywhere else.
Help me with the logic here.

Good idea for der TR3 tho. No, wait a minute - they're ***well equipped*** with "factory undercoating" aka the chassis is well ahem lubed.
What's an old waterbed heater run? Suck up much power? I did end up with some rockerbubble on me now what 12 yr. old 'resto'. GUESS that could have been prevented by parking over more than er the chassis-length scattered old cardboard boxes aka drip pans. But that'd make 'sense' (overrated)...
