Considering oil change while at dealer - What's ZVP 000 540 ?
My 2002 A8L is at the dealer for a minor CPO repair. The service indicator is telling me I need an oil change in 800 miles, which will be about 5500 miles since the last change (Mobil 1 0w-40).
My car suffers moderate fuel dilution (1.5% last time), so I do not mind changing it early. I suspect that, given the cold weather recently here in Vermont, the fuel dilution may be worse from warmup. Maybe not; the engine does get up to operating temperature.
Anyway, the dealer has both M1 0w-40 and what the parts guy tells me is the Audi P/N that comes up for the 4.2L in my car,ZVP 000 540. He says that this is a synthetic 0w-40 that they get in bulk and can sell to me for $48 for the required 7-point-whatever quarts. How can I verify what this stuff is?

strange .... don't see it on there listing. Maybe ELF or Castrol in bulk????
