Timing belt kits: price differences - is it worth it?

Timing belt kits: price differences - is it worth it?
I've already ordered the Blau kit for my 2001 A8L at a cost of $589 for the kit. Just roaming around and checked on importec's website and they show a price of $166. Is the Blau kit truly worth that much of a difference?

ECS Tuning shows their timing belt kit at $209. Is component quaility the main cause of price differences? If not, and each supplier's kit is similar then I'm cancelling my order with Blau.

Audi does not manufacture timing parts
The issue is, are the parts from parts houses of the same quality or exactly the the same as from Audi's OE suppliers? I doubt, for example, that Conti makes more than one quality timing belt for an A8. Ditto rollers; FEBI? The water pump I don't know about. Or the tensioner. I wish someone would tell me because I will need to do 40V TB job pretty soon. Does somebody make a failsafe thermostat, i.e., one that defaults to the open mode?
My assumption is that there are a lot more substandard far eastern and ex Warssw pact parts floating around for mass market cars than for semi-exotics like A8s. You would tool up and distribute what you could sell the most of if you were in the parts biz.
