symphony ii won't budge!

i cannot remove the symphony ii unit from my car. the lhs works fine, but the rhs, while it clicks, will not move. it appears that the lugs are not disengaging on that side. i have used a lot of force to try and dislodge the side (using the tape slot) with no luck.

i am looking for help and ideas from anyone who has had this experience. there is little or know room to try and get the tabs from the rear of the unit...

i'm familiar with removing symphony ii units, and i have the correct tools.

do you have a pic?-We had an a4 that had four slots and was like that

do not force -rather push in first then try clip

Mine was real tough to get out of my 02 A6

IIRC the right side was stuck to the surrounding dash panel. Maybe spilled soda or somethihng, who knows. I think I ended up with a very small screw driver (I"m sure there's a better option) down the right side of the radio to nudge it loose

I've had that happen on an A6 that we put a Nav Plus in

Can remember what we did besides wrestle with it, but we got it.

it definitely won't move

my current idea is to drill a 2mm hole through the trim panel lateral to the top and bottom rhs tabs with a view to pushing the tabs in from outside. this will work, but requires careful alignment...

i have the rns-e and wiring including valentine/dis interface to install, so this is this week-end's job...

my brake cooling modification are waiting for install, but that is another story...
