Default Are there any?

Participants on any of the Audi forms that actually work at an Audi repair facility ?

Seems like inside information would be a real boon. Such as "Information they don't want you to know" ;-)

Default No need to get people in trouble, IMHO...

In my line of business (not auto), all employees sign confidentiallity agreements, and can get fired for breaching them. Information leaked after they leave is the same. Won't speak for anyone, but I certainly understand if any audi employees would keep a low profile.

Default I would have to say that dealers probably don't even want to work on D2's any longer

Most of the stuff we haven't figured out yet is on the pre facelift cars. Audi used so much of the D2 technology in the A4 and A6 starting around 97 and 99, then did the facelift to the D2 to match the drive by wire and CAN bus configurations.

In a way, the pre facelift is a hybrid and a lot of dealers don't really want to work on the old cars.

I think our group of people and knowledge will rival most dealer mechanics because they are trained on the newer cars. They get great training, but their focus is not on pre facelift D2's.

There is an Audi tech in the Chicago forum, him and his service advisor post, he is really funny and an EXCELLENT tech. People bring them cars from all over Chicago to have Russ (the tech) work on them.

Agree completely. Different than "information they don't want you to know".

Default I do....

I'm a audi brand specialist that sells new and used cars. Our service dept is attached to the showroom and i'm always back there snooping around. I do not believe that there are many secrets that we on the forum do not already know. In most cases the information presented here on audiworld is a lot more thorough. The only secrets are short-cuts due to working on the cars everyday. I come to the forum everyday looking for new ways to make my cars more enjoyable. We already have the information they don't want you to know
cheers

Default Well thank you!

Mike

That is good news!

I guess the original question was in response to something I read from the ATSG pages and how that group was refused even courtesy information from ZF with the response "We only provide information to our representatives. The ZF repair facilities can be contacted regarding hardware and services, but the Audi dealers and repair facilities are the ones who would see the integration of repairs or service results in the real world.

Thank you for identifying yourself.

Regards

CalG

Default Boston-area Audi dealers are only too happy to take your $

to work on the D2. their favorite is to "try" something for $300, and then when that doesn't work, "try" something else for $500, etc.
