oil cooler tube coolant leak
So it appears my '01 S8 has the infamous bad oil cooler tube - I've noticed a slow/intermittent leak from the front passenger side of the engine compartment for the past few weeks. No performance issues but every 7-10 days or so I'm getting the coolant warning and need to top it off.
Obviously I'm going to have this dealt with, but I just don't have the time right now. For those of you who have been through this - how long have you gone before it required immediate attention? Will it continue as a slow drip or will the tube suddenly rupture and spew pink stuff everywhere?

19 isn't Coooooooooold!!!!!
It was like 10 when I got of the plane in Denver last Tue at 4PM. When I was out there in the car in Dec. and headed back to Bama, it was like -8F. Now thats brisk! Even with heated seats.

Here in CT it's been the same as you're getting there in Boston, most mornings in the 4oF range.
Funny (not reallY), I happened to look outside at the car and watched it dripdripDRIPPING along. I've narrowed it down - it happens 2 hours after parking, and then stops about 40 minutes later. Odd. Drip was much more continuous than it has been, but it was very cold that day.
I'll remedy it in the spring when it's F'ing warmer I guess.

I bet you'll never do that again!!
My symptoms are the same. I'm guessing that it drips more after the car has been driven due to pressure in the system forcing the coolant through the crack in the tube. As the car sits for a while the pressure dissipates and the leak subsides. That's how I see it anyway.
