Looking to repair my immobilizer...
<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/96961/ribbon_010.jpg"></center><p>I had some intermitent problems with my immobilizer and I identified the problem in the cluster. There is a ribbon cable connecting the cluster with the immo that is damaged. Sorry A8CT even if you manage to remove the old screen it will be a task to find the part.
I am just looking for a few connectors and I have hard time finding them. I can't imagine looking for the screen....You could get a used one.. make sure when you look for the part number to end at "X". The ones with the X at the end are replacement clusters, and chances are VDO fixed that issue.

I checked the catalogues of digikey, mouser, and fciconnect...
fciconnect.com has many connectors that look familiar with AUDI connectors .. but nothing like this.... problem is the two rows are not at the same perpendicular location. I guess I will have to find another way.... I'll have to refresh my soldering skills and put a cat5 or something.... I was wondering if an immo from another cluster will work on my cluster....
