TT on TV (UK)

Just to remind those in the UK that 'Driven' on CH4 - 8.30 p.m. has a triple test featuring the TT tonight (22nd June).Bit of an odd grouping (since they're probably testing the 180Q) - other two cars are Merc. SLK and TVR Chimaera! (although some papers say GTV V6).

It will be very interesting. At Top-Gear they don't understand anything. For them a sports car has to be either British or Italian and you need to be able to make it spin at will. No airbags, ABS, airconditioning is required (they make the car heavier), 6 is the minumum number of cylinders a serious engine has to have (unless you can see the word "Lotus" on it....). Style and longevity are not regarded as appeals a sports car should have and resale value is something they are not bothered with (they drive their cars for 2 weeks anyway). So enjoy the program tonight and whatever they say (wanna bet on the fact that the Chimera will be the winner hands down, SLK only auto..... noooooo sports car, and TT only 185hp and a 4 banger that doesn't sound too good). Rest assured you own one of the nicest car around which will be a classic and sought after as the SLK is. The Chimera it's a fine car, which scores high in fun and performance but cannot be compared to the other 2 in a test to real cars. The TVR is a superb toy car, but that's it.
