First paint chip

After 1100 miles, I noticed my first paint chip on the hood of my beautiful Denim Blue TT

Anyone have any ideas on how best to cover this over? There is no dent, but it really stands out. Also, I've noticed some glue residue left over from the original packing materials, especially along the arc above the doors. Any thoughts on how to get rid of this? Thanks.

I have a small chip also and am waiting for touch up paint to reach my dealer. As to the clue any cleaner wax will work (I had the same glue marks).

Thanks Jim, does the touch up paint need to be covered with clearcoat after application?

Not if your me, but if you want to go all out there are companies that make touch up kits that are a four or five step job. Of course I don't remember their names, but thats me. You can find them and get the TT kits started, like the rest of the after market industry they are most likly not up to speed with the TT yet.JIM

Dupli-Color Paint Chip Kit

Get some Denim Blue paint from the dealer and buy the Dupli-Color Paint Chip Kit for $10 at your local AutoZone or auto parts store and have at it. I have used it and it works pretty well. It comes with primer, clear coat, polishing compound, prep stick, and very fine sand paper. <p>Good luck!<p>Jon

You might want to try this

Go to "www.carcareonline.com" and visit "how-to articles." There is an article concerning your very problem. If you don't want to pay to have someone fix it, this is a good place to learn how to do it right yourself.<br>Good luck.
