Help with ordering specifics...
As I am reading about everyone waiting for their TT to come in, I'm curious. I've never ordered a car before, just picked from the lot. Are you packaging it at the dealership with everything you want and then the dealer is ordering it from Audi? Or are you on a waiting list for whatever TT comes in?<p>Thanks.

Todd,<p>About six months ago, I called my dealership to check out availability after reading about the car and seeing pictures on the Net. He asked me which color I was interested in....I said silver, he said he had one on their allotment list and that it came with all options at MSRP. He put my name on it when I gave him a refundable $500 deposit. As soon as they had a demo in, I went up to drive it, loved it, let him keep the $500 and am picking it up tonight. It also arrived exactly when he said it would, they can track through production if a VIN is assigned to your order....and am picking it up tonight...Denny P.S. I think Danbury Audi (CT) is one of the top ten Audi dealers in the country, so they got a fairly large number of the TT's.

Todd,<p>My situation was similar to Denny's. They had a black/gray demo which a drove a couple of times.Two weeks ago I ordered a silver/black Q with everything expected around late October, early November right when my lease is up. I put down a fully refundable $500 deposit to hold my place in line. Around August I will have to make a committment to the car. I pretty much ordered the color and options I wanted. Now the llllllllloooooooooooonnnnnnnggggggg wait.<p>Joe

There are only a few options to spec out on your car - but the norm seems to be a $500.00 refundable deposit and get on the waiting list. I ordered a 180Q that is the 1st order here at Don Mcgill Audi in Houston. Originally the delivery date was to be in late July or early August-but as production has not even started, it will be after September - when I do not know, I'll just keep bugging our factory rep every visit, and keep checking the vin & order # for ship status!
