Comparo Tests TT vs ??

After one week of lurking and 2 test drives, I've ordered a silver/black 180Q for November delivery. Just in time for the crummy Ohio weather. I would like to hold out for the 225, but my lease is up in November. Maybe a beater for the winter ... hmmmmm. Out of curiosity what other vehicles did new or potentially new TT owners consider? I considered the M Roadster, and the Vette. The TT seems to provide the best of both worlds. The 225 should give the M a run for the money, and handling wise the stats, per Road&Track are comparable to the Vette's, without the GM build quality, mileage and insurance rates. Others?

Z3 Vette SLK

I thought about the Z3 roadster but my old girlfreind had one and there is no, and I nean no room for luggage (well almost none). Also the handling was not good on bumpy/curved roads. As to the Vette I assume you nean 'GM build quality' as in 'lack there of'. Also too many women I know say Vettes turn them off and insist thier owmers are trying to over compensate for something (for real) and we can't have any of that. Hay we don't buy cars because of what women think anyway - do we? I looked a the SLK - no stick -no deal (thats changed now but it's just not right somehow). And the Boxter didn't have the interior look and was too much money in my view. Really there was no contest after I saw the TT coupe, I had to have one and thats all there was to it. I'm happy to say the car has lived up to my expectations 100%.JIM

I talked to a guy who bought a new Camaro once and the seat fell off the track as he left the lot.

I ordered a silver/black 180Q after test driving an SLK (not distinctive enough, although the roof is cool) and deciding that I couldn't wait for the 2001 T-Bird.

Same here. I drove the TT then immediately ran down the street to the MB dealer so I could drive the SLK 230 w/sport package while the butt dynometer was still accurate. It was nice. Hot summer day top down. But uneventful. When I was driving the TT I was smiling from ear to ear and having a blast. The 230 was ... nice. Using the emotional component the TT blows it away for a lot less money. Despite the $4.0 g sport package, it handled not much better than my 328. Plus the ride was real rough. That top is so cool though.
